Title: Reply and unread buttons.
Post by: smokester on January 19, 2009, 05:41:17 PM
These look quite nice and get rid of the Show unread posts since last visit and Show new replies to your posts links.  What do any of you think?

the Show unread posts since last visit and Show new replies to your posts links.

I use them a lot, but as long as this is a "person-to-person" customization, I don't care...  :)

I like the banner but have you looked at JackFrost's banner.  It's really very nice and really set's precedent for a whole theme.

As for the buttons, as long as they are there, no matter where they are, I'm good.  I use them explicitly.

They should show at the bottom as well but I cannot be sure as the testing forum does not have the nav bar at the bottom?

Thanks for the compliment, dweez. And so far I've only shared that with staff.

Everyone else will see it in the redesign...  :)

They are site modifications written by various people.  I have the bookmark mod ready but haven't got round to it yet.  I'll do it later tonight.

I wasn't going to even mention it, actually...

Tell you what, you post a pic of yourself, and I'll show you the banner...

Deal?  ;)

Thanks.  :)

I still think dweez is right and I need to soften the shadow behind the 'F' so it only hints at the 'P' and doesn't become a 'P'. If that makes any sense...

I see what youre saying. I think because the image is lager than my screen and I have to pan I didnt even notice it. Maybe you could hide somekind of subliminal message in there.

Sarcasim mostly. But maybe you could hide a secret message deep beneath the shadows of the F that only few can see.........And only one can decipher.  Yeah, still sarcasim

One of the problems we have now is that a completely new theme may mean we have to hand code some of the modifications we have here, into various pages (not something I'd look forward to).  Because of that I am trying to devise a way to simply copy over different elements using the same names and overwriting the default files, but that does restrict us to a degree.  I am going to set up a local server on my home comp and play around with things to see how far I can push it, but for the moment functionality takes preference.

Functionality to include accessibility. Nothing worse than arriving only to find the doors locked and the shades drawn....

Unless you have the key.
