I read the book first and what I imagined looked nothing like Kubrick's movie, so it was a bit off-putting being forced to see the story using the ideas from someone else's imagination, but as I learned to separate movies from books in my mind I actually came to like this movie.
A book-to-movie adaptation that failed miserably and the people who made it should feel bad about themselves.
