(even though the second film is marginally better than the first, it's still a disappointment)
Like 6pairsofshoes mentioned somewhere, I'd rather rely on my imagination and not have the film mess with my memories of the book.

While I sort of enjoyed watching it while it was playing, afterwards I did wonder why they had made a movie over 2.5 hours long that could have been done in 11 minutes, possibly 12.

It was self-referential. Film title as film criticism...

As a film go's, it entertained.
I put films into distinct categories, this was a entertaining film with no thought required.
Was a children's book to begin with.

I'm not gonna lie.  It eased the pain of folding laundry.  I paid attention to it the third time I watched it I think.

Thank you, Maudibe.  I instinctively stayed away from that movie, and this trailer confirms my suspicions with the best possible humor.
