youtube guilty pleasures
« on: May 12, 2023, 09:57:15 AM »
What do you watch on youtube that is probably not particularly educational or even noteworthy in any way but that amuses you?

I'll start.
curbside junkies.  Husband and wife in Texas who love to go through dumpsters, often rescuing perfectly good food that grocers and other merchants put in the trash.  They frequently fill a "Blessing Box" (a food pantry that is open to any and all comers) after they take it home and clean it up a bit.  They also go through all kinds of other stuff, in search of dog food for their three german shepherds, clothing for their kids, etc.  They'll take clothing they don't want and donate it.   Some stuff they sell on ebay.  They have various health issues that keep them from working regular jobs but they are pretty entertaining.

For fun I watch James at Plumberparts and his disaster collections. You could say they're educational, but this guy sound like he's out of a Carry On film most of the time and some of the "disasters" he gets sent are real eye openers.

I believe anyone would be entertained by James, regardless of his trade related videos.

Tell me this guy doesn't make you laugh:

For some reason, I'm perpetually amused by the "Like a Boss" or "Instant Regret" videos.

That was entertaining, smokes, and timely since I need to do a repair on my own toilet.

I have done all kinds of automotive repairs thanks to youtube.
But often, late at night, I watch comedians.  There's a channel, DryBar Comedy, that has standup that can be funny from time to time.  And then, there's the usual group of British comedians:  Jimmy Carr, Stewart Lee, Stephen Fry.  And Christopher Hitchens is fun, speaking to us with his wonderful acerbic insights from beyond the grave.

I'm not really awake, so that's the best I can come up with before hitting an adequate level of caffeine intake.

.... I watch comedians....

I also watch Paul Chowdry on YouTube, but lately, he's gotten a little too serious for my liking.

I probably shouldn't say this, but his "Sam Smith Controversy" makes me laugh.

Sometimes I watch Bruce Rivers the Criminal Lawyer or Black Belt Barrister.
