Bookmarks. Android to PC.
« on: December 16, 2012, 07:38:12 AM »
Sync sucks. Sync has always sucked. Sync WILL always suck.

I want to back up my bookmarks from my HTC thunderbolt smart phone to my Windows 7 Laptop.

Google thinks I want to do the exact opposite of this, or install stupid apps that want me to set up an account.

Nope. All I want to do is browse through my bookmarks on the PC. I do not want some panopticon overlord synching my poo between chrome firefox and IE.

I use the default web browser on the phone because the mobile firefox is bless'ed ugly. If it weren't bless'ed ugly, I'd be using it. But even firefox wants you to set up a sync account.

As if USB cables never bless'ed existed.

And google? Google was so bless'ed clever they hid the bookmarks so you can't just view them as a folder, which is what I WANTED to do.

By Google, do you mean Chrome?  If so, you can click on the "Settings" button, "Bookmarks", "Bookmark Manager"...Or you could hit Ctrl+Shift+O to bring up the bookmark manager.
