I bought some "Nice" eggs on sale at Walgreens and they were sort of dessicated, crack the shell and they were really slow to come out. Weird. We cooked them and they tasted ok, but I'm not so keen on going back to get eggs there. Better to go w/vegetarian free range eggs.

They aren't. They are no different than any other eggs. If your eggs are chunky I suspect they were frozen or something. That sounds like a degradation in the protein chains, the albumen. Egg contents should be smooth and viscous, never "chunky."
