Mom actually made a thanksgiving dinner, even if it was just for two. She bought a little turkey kit, baked it, and mashed potatoes by hand.
I asked her why she didn't use the blender, and got a "Well, golly". The other accompaniment was steamed broccoli and a slice of bread (she hasn't been able to find rolls at the grocery outlet for a while)
I honestly would have been happy with a school lunch grade sandwich made with turkey sandwich meat, but this was a very pleasant surprise. (She had asked, and I mentioned the sandwiches.)
The apple pie did not survive the cooking process, but the Pumpkin did.
I'm proud of my mom, and thankful to have her.
