^ Wow. I totally agree, and I can understand your reaction. I've only shot several times before, and yeah, it does give you that sense of complete power for that moment you're hand is clutching the greatest and most evil thing made by men.
I was raised around them, My late father was a Navy SEAL.
It isnt the fealing of power, it isnt the awsome feeling of holding the most evil thing in the world ( a gun is only as evil as the person using it, much like a hammer or a car).
Its just the fact that you can hit a 3 inch target from 100 meters with open sights. To me its a zen thing.
Like Ive said in another forum, I would not have a problem shooting a person that comes in my home on me, but,, there are still too many inocent people killed by firearms.
Mainly by people that are suposed to be licensed to carry them ( ie cops).
I know what its like to hold someone at gunpoint, been there and did that. The overwhelming feeling that this person is at your mercey, and that you can end a life with the flick of a finger.
But thats no diferent than driving down a street crowded with pedestrians .
