Yes I remember; it was a Reliant Regal Supervan II. Was yours a Supervan too?  There happened to be 5 of us in the Trotters one when we crashed it - 2 up front and 3 in the back.  That was ok for a bunch of skinheads but it must have been uncomfortable to have your family crammed in the back of one?

It was pretty uncomfortable, what with the exhaust fumes that seemed to seep in. Not to mention being crammed in with the fishing gear & spare wheel. Supervan has to be the biggest misnomer ever.

So was crashing a regular thing then? How many times did it happen to you before you realized that you'ld made a bad auto choice?

That Top Gear thing is a bit of a piss take. Our van never tipped up once and that includes the time my Dad drove us home from my sister's wedding reception whilst drunk. I think we travelled most of the way half on the pavement. That was the 1970s though, when laws were more like guidelines than anything black & white.

That part is really funny!    I always thought he was handsome, but his voice always prevented me from watching his interviews, so I never saw the video before. I think he sounds much better now... and you're right, his sense of humor makes him more likable.

next door neighbour worked for fyffes.
he went around the Midlands "collecting"  this sort of spider / bugs.

his friend then kept them.
to have organic bananas you need a pest that will kill / eat the bugs , so they use black widow spiders.
