You tell all the other boys and girls which time period you'd live in, in which country, and why...

Ancient Egypt...

I don?t think I?d want to be stuck in one time period, or one place. There?s too much death and disease and unjustness in certain time periods. I?d prefer right now if that was the choice. It?s not a bad time to live. But I would like to time travel for specific days at specific times. Like the solar eclipse used to prove Einstein's theory of gravitation, a day in 1950?s Hawaii for surfing and night beach partying, jimi hendrix at Woodstock, stalking van gogh to chance seeing him paint a landscape?stuff like that?I can think of endless days to spend that way. Time hopping would be fun.

well...it seems unlikely you'd know an exact day and an exact place he'd be painting, you'd probably only have a general idea. Then you'd have to arrive at that general place and time, and follow him a bit. I doubt you could just meet him and say, 'I'm a time traveller, I demand you go paint a field somewhere so I can watch and be entertained.' :D Covert tagging along seems the better choice :P

^..oh.. I thought of another last night.. I'd go hang out the summer of 1816 and travel around the world where weather, and atmosphere was being effected by the aftermath of the  Mount Tambora volcanic eruption. Actually.. there's lots of weather events I'd try catch. I'd probably be a very boring time traveller :D

Wow, Skadi, I like the way you think.  Please keep going with your list as, at the very least, it gives me a nice list of historical events to look up.

BTW, I'd go back in time and stop George Washington from cutting down the cherry tree. :D

^ oh. that's a good one. Then he could have forever worked you into the quote. Then... you could have travelled to his future in the time where he was a master beer and whiskey brewer. To thank you for your previous deed he might have you sample heavily from his beer stock. Then when you were nicely imbibed, you could find a willing wench, sneak off to borrow his buttery, and make a night of it. We could all write a time travel book. The volcano one is really interesting. It actually inspired artists and writers imagery so much that it made it into their works...like in the case of 'Frankenstein'.

I would attempt to be around every key event in the history of every civilisation, especially ones involving large shifts in power, ensuring I end up in the literature, paintings and other forms of record.  And then I'd come back to now just to look me up on conspiracycentral

exactly my thoughts too .. i'd love to meet myrrden/merlin too, see ancient egypt, greece when it was on its cultural heigth, meet socrates and plato, hang out with timothy leary, visit tibet maybe even meet buddha or jesus ... try to help people survive the attack on troy ... 

see the maya and inks city at when they were still bursting with life! 

meet some aborigines before white man started to invade their country..
