Fortuntely,, you only have four in America that are poisonous. The Copperhead ( light brown with darker brown paterns, and they are VERY territorial), Rattlesnakes ( been bitten once,, not nice, my fault though), Water Mocasins aka Cottonmouths ( rare really, most watersnakes in America are non venomous,, and unfortunately killed needlesly by ignorant savages). Even Water Mocasins arent that dangerous. Ive had them to crawl into a boat with me before, I just left them alone and after they investigated the large strange thing they saw they leave. And last but not least, the Mountain Boomer, it looks like a kingsnake of the same color ( which is harmless) but its paterning is different.
Both are very colorfull with red, yellow and black bands, but the mountain boomer has the red and yellow next to each other.
Remember this one saying: Red and yellow, kill a fellow.
Saved me alot of grief a few times.
Rest are what arre known as Calubrids. They consist of all 200 breeds of lace snake ( commonly refered to as garter snakes), King snakes ( Many verieties,,my favorite is the California and SPeckled kingsnakes),Grass snakes, milk snakes, corn snakes ( both make excellent pets) , rat snakes, hognosed and bull snakes and the odd Blue Racer ( sometimes mistaked for the coachwhip snake).
And a few varied harmless small ones like the DK Brown and the DK Ringneck, both very harmless.
Sorry,, I am a snake fanatic lmao
