BNP forced to accept non-white members

BNP leader Nick Griffin has agreed to ask his party to amend its constitution so it does not discriminate on grounds of race or religion, a court heard.

The UK's equalities watchdog had argued the BNP broke the Race Relations Act by restricting members to "indigenous Caucasian" people.

The court heard Mr Griffin had agreed to use "all reasonable endeavours" to revise its constitution.

BNP members will be asked to agree to the changes at a meeting in November.

Mr Griffin was not at the hearing at Central London County Court on Thursday morning.

They maybe forced to take Caucasian members but reality could be different.

I think they even disallowed Muslim members who of course could be white.

All that they have been asked to do is abide by the law, because that old Race relation act stipulates that you cannot not be a political party if you exempt people on account of colour, race or religion.

Actually there are already black and Asian members,the government didn't want you to know that.
  I've spoken to one of them 2 yrs ago.

There is one thing that gets me, what's behind this? There are groups that allow specific ethnic groups, but seemly don't get challenged. This could get twisted.

I think their constitution will be updated with something on the lines of disallowing people who they don't like or want to join. If the BNP made any non-white member (if that's the right way of putting it) fell unwelcome, some action would take place.

When I read your first reply a few times, one way I took it was if it was the other way around.

To join any political party you must believe in their manifesto, which is a bit oxymoronic in this case as very few of the people involved with the BNP can actually read.  But it does mean that the members of society that they now have to grant membership, are exactly the same people that would oppose their manifesto wholeheartedly.

In the states,, several states have declared autonomy, and when they did, the Federal Govornment, squashed more rights we have in the Constitution.
God forbid anyone does anythng that we  have the rights to do.

What ever happenedto people just being allowed to live and be happy?
I guess the answer to that question is simple.
We created a monster to makedecisions for us, and look at where we are.
A monster is a monster, no matter what you call it.
