Is it the number line?  That was one of the first things I learned at uni.  When you add, you go to the right.  Subtraction means you go left.  Hope that helps.

The school I went to wants me to come file for my transcripts personally.  In Manila.  An entire island group away.

The school I want to go to wants me to commute from Manila to here.  For a distance learning course.

I went to school in Manila.   All of my school records are there. 

There's also the fact that the school I want to be admitted to has jackasses for an Admissions Committe.  And that my old Uni has equally jackass-y people over at the Registrar's office.
