Sorry about your Dad, 8ully. I lost mine around this time, god, it was 22 years ago. Like someone yanked the rug out from under the universe. Just found out that a lovely woman who was my roommate a long time ago died from cancer. It's still hard to believe. You lose touch with people but assume you'll look them up the next time you are in their town, and, with COVID, travel is so curtailed that you don't go anywhere.
Glad to hear the new apt is good, Bea. Nice that you are finally settled somewhere you like. I haven't heard from aelthric for a while, and the same with tarascon. He used to send me messages via gmail but it's been many months.
smokes, I know a few Russians. They think what's going on in Ukraine is a crime. But, they don't live in Russia, so they probably don't get the Putin approved news. It's kind of comical to see the Fox news pundits tripping all over themselves in contradictions. First, they're in lock step with Agent Orange who kept saying how smart Putin is, then the bombed out apartments, hospitals and dead babies came on the airwaves and now it's "Putin wouldn't have done this if Biden hadn't stolen the election." Funny that. Arguing with idiots is hard but when they're drunk it's kind of better to consider if you can remember all the titles of Jane Austen's novels while ruminating quietly to yourself and ignoring them.
