Has your phone got a slot for the cheque?

(I haven't seen a cheque in years!)

It does indeed. It's right next to the tea and coffee spout.
Don't put off until tomorrow, what you can put off until the day after.

There is an exception to every rule, apart from this one.

Thanks for that fun link, goldie!

In any situation where "rumbustious" would apply, I would use "rambunctious". I am - I humbly admit - unaware of the difference between the two.

Maybe if you had consumed a large quantity of rum, the former might seem more apt.  I'd not encountered that word until yesterday.  I had to look it up.  I think it was in some essay on Nordic sagas or a related rabbithole that led me to it.

Today's word:
Accismus:
a feigned lack of interest in something while actually desiring it.
an affected or false refusal/coyness.
Example:  The fox's dismissal of the grapes in Aesop's fable of the fox and the grapes is an example of accismus.
It also leads to such hipster comments as "you know you want it..."

Ha! I think I'm coming down with an attack of accismus!

Today's word:
Mereswine
a dolphin/porpoise

Sea pig, eh?  It brings to mind this wonderful drinking vessel.  Dionysus turns pirates into sea pigs.  They got up in his grill and he didn't like it.

I'm having my hands irradiated tomorrow and am quite scared about it. For years I thought it was just scarring on my hands, but I've been going to a derma for a while and none of the steroid goos worked, so tomorrow I get hulk beamed.

Not looking forward to it in the slightest, but if my posts drop off, well, I probably won't be dead, just severely uncomfortable.

I remember one time I broke some fingers and used dragon text to speech for homework, teachers were not amused, but they were accommodating.

I'll miss gaming.

That sounds nerve racking.  Is this for Dupuytrens?  It sounds like it will result in minor burns.  I hope it's not too severe and that it helps.  Also, we'll miss you around these parts.

No, annoyingly enough flat warts. I'd had one on the sole of my thumb but burned that off with supermarket salicylic acid.
It's under the skin, not fun to look at, and mostly feels like someone put a cigarette out on my hands occasionally.

As to the burns, my doctor claimed it is like sunburn, if it's going to be like chemical burns I may decline treatment and tell him, well, I was muted repeatedly on demonoid for a reason.

I was already irritated they used some kind of injectable irritant that did nothing but hurt. They were even stingy with band-aids.

They canceled on me and I got some sleep, was up all night with nerves.

Turns out I was freaking out for nothing, they weren't going to nuke me, they were going to use UV-B, which apparently is safe for pregnant women and children.
