I can't believe I still haven't put our Christmas decorations up yet. Usually I do this on the 1st.

Maybe it's due to the lack of nippers these days.

Nippers are an advantage for Xmas, No good for the wallet though  although the older they get the more they cost in my boooks.

We used to get a tree.  It was fun to decorate it.  We haven't in recent years. Probably not this year but we'll have more space going forward.  At least we like a wreath for the door.

I love playing with the ornaments on the site, attempting to play them like some kind of glockenspiel.  So thanks for that.  They're right cheery.

Wife puts the tree up on the st December then wants them down asap post xmas day.

I didn't know this type of can opener existed, but that's not the important part.

My desk chair had a line of metal that went between two of the "spokes" of the base. This kept the chair from rotating freely and was highly annoying.

I've just been living with it. This video convinced me to take another look.

One wheel tightened that part of the chair. I opened it up, lifted the metal, then tightened it back down.

I now feel incredibly stupid. I spent months angry when 30 seconds solved the problem. I just had to commit.

That's curious given the preponderance of videos on youtube with cats climbing and destroying xmas trees.  I guess you should consider yourself fortunate?

@8ully, a friend had one of those can openers and I found the exposed sharp edges of the can shaft really scary as a potential cutting hazard.  There's no real ideal can opener, but I prefer the old school ones.  I have never enjoyed using the electric ones.  They take up space on the counter and I find them hard to operate, but that's just me.

I built an ottoman under our bay window and the cat's bed usually sits on top of this. However, the bed gets shifted to the floor and the tree then put in its place and the cat gets proper sniffy about this and will only sleep in TNGs room at night.

My wife found a solution and bought her a new bed she can sink right into and placed it next to the tree. So far it's working.

We always called the mini liquor bottles nips, and I've always been nervous asking about them. Turns out there is a non-slur adjacent name for them, Mini's!

I was trying to find a J&B mini because every time I watch The Thing I get curious. I was told at a liquor warehouse they don't exist, but that politician lied to me.

I just don't want to order one online.
