Trump (or advisor) played a cool hand Luke with Ukraine, went to Putin-Petrified Zelensky and Europe forcing EU into also try to bid for their minerals, where did that info suddenly appear from and lost.
Looks like he won the Mineral deal (wasn't Biden accused of money laundering in Ukraine also).

Bullies bully the weak: we aren't particularly strong - our leaders will align with whatever they think will hurt least.

The problem with "the U.K's stance on Ukraine" is that we aren't strong enough to have one of our own. In truth the rest of the western world's stance on everything for seventy or so years has been "whatever America wants, and let's hope they are nice to us". What we really want is for Ukraine to kick the poo out of Russia and send them back to where they came from, but we aren't even close to being strong enough to help them do that. (... and probably nor are America, noting their previous adventures in Asia)

As horrible as the attack on the World Trade Center was, this self inflicted damage seems like it's going to have much worse, longer lasting effects.  It's hard to feel optimistic about being an American these days.

Oh, contraire.  The whole debacle played like a bad rerun of The Apprentice.  What Trump knows about running a company or a government he learned from acting like a competent businessman on tv.  That's the only place he came across as one, since he is known for his string of failed business ventures.  Sad to say, we are stuck with this failed Reality TV star to screw up the global geopolitical order.

What alarms me the most is that there is probably a huge number of Americans that are proud of their leader for "showing strength".

I made a point of logging in (under a fake identity) to X yesterday simply to tell him that he's a disgrace and his behavior was bad for America.  The long series of suck up praise posts that preceded mine was staggering.  They felt he's put Ukraine in its place and how dare Zelensky show up not wearing a suit.  Jesus wept.

One thing that freaks me out about the apprentice redux is that he might be firing all these employees not as a retaliatory measure as we've all been thinking, but because he's literally stuck in the bless'ed TV show in his head.

Vance should go back to not speaking.

I just listened to Trump's address to Congress.  A firehose of lies delivered by someone who would probably make a used car salesman seem more honest and compelling.  How can the Republicans listen to him?
