I am trying to gauge whether I feel marginally better than I did yesterday, or that I am just getting used to being ill.

Hopefully a couple more days and you'll be feeling a lot better.

99.999% of me didn't believe in the apocalyptic nonsense we all heard so much about, but there was a tiny part of me that thought it would be really cool  to be a part of some sort of instantaneous end of the world scenario. It wouldn't have to necessarily be a bad ending, perhaps it would just be the end of the world as we know it, but it might have been the most interesting thing any that could ever happen to anyone who has ever walked the Earth. Alas, we are here and the world is as we know it and life goes on as it always has. Oh well.

What would it consist of?  Would we all die?  Would there be a meteor shower or other cool spectacle? 

I suspect we will expire with a whimper rather than a bang.
