I took so long about it I decided on a chili and courgette omelette and called it brunch.

I've heard stories about how hot (and humid) it gets where you're from.  :o I'll take the heat over the humidity any day.  :D

My ex-husband would actually invite them in so they could preach to him.  Then he'd start a debate.

It never ended well.

Some came back with more members.  I told them to go away because we were a lost cause and other souls needed saving.

I didn't know that about the blood and gay angle.  :D I'll have to try that. They said "they'd be back because I wasn't ready to know God's Kingdom."  ::)

My mom used to invite them in too. Not to debate, but because she is such a nice person. It was annoying to come home from work and find them sitting in the living room.  ::)

I answered the door, got caught by two Mormon kids  and told them I was a Scientologist. They laughed and said, "really?". They haven't been back since.  :D :D :D :D

In my country they're very polite but they insist anyway WHATEVER you say to them. You know what works best for me? I say "sorry but no" with a big polite smile. You'll need to do that at least 3 times though.

I tell them I'm a Catholic and tell them they'll be struck down immediately if they try to convert me. 

It makes them stop and think which gives you ample time to close the door.

I'm not a Catholic but I come from a Catholic family and I had a... let's say torrid affair  :D with an Adventist in my University years. The guilt that guy felt... It was fun in more than one level.  ;D
