autumn, you need to schedule night duty and divide it up.  That's simply unfair to you.  And you are not a terrible person to want a good night's sleep every once in a while.  Just put that right out of your mind.

I'm trying to figure out how a grown man doesn't wake up to twenty minutes or more of top-of-the-lungs screaming. I'm so sick of being the one to work a physical job and take care of the kid. He signed on for this too. I can't do anything without being in pain, but no, go ahead sleep through the night while she screams in my face and won't be consoled. It's great, really.

My son had colic and screamed solidly for 4 months (I think I've mentioned this) so my missus and I made and agreement of one night on, and one night off.  The night you had off you had the travel type earplugs to yourself and barring the building burning down, you were not to be disturbed.  The following night you just had to grin and bear it, but the thought of your night off the following night was like a Trifle on the horizon.

PS. I love Trifle.

How terrible a person I am.

Wha...?! I wanted to kill someone during those 1st months. You are NOT a bad person.

Yes, you have. I also mentioned it happened to us too. I still have haunting nightmares of those 4 first months.  :D :D
The thing is my husband worked (I should say "works") 10-12 hours a day and I wasn't working at the time. He did offer to take care of our daughter but since I couldn't sleep anyway when she cried it was always me. I could've slept during the day when she napped but those damned circadian rhythms rarely let me.

It just wouldn't work. He wouldn't wake up if a tornado ripped through the bedroom.

That could work. She usually isn't very fussy but she has her moments, particularly when I need to sleep.

And I was feeling terrible over something else.   :-\

I really need to hire myself a labourer.  Ok, so I wouldn't earn as much, but what I did earn I'd enjoy spending rather than having never-ending aches that I'd gladly pay to go away.

Hire an intern you don't have to pay anything or only a little. They would be doing it for the work experience.

That all racial jokes and use of racial slurs is not always funny.

How on earth am I going to be able to fulfil my work commitments with two kids on tow for the next two weeks. Where's Mary Poppins when you need her.

I think she's homeless.

Birds make quite a bit of noise flapping their wings when they fly.
