i am thinking why do i have to pay £400 for a new wing mirror on my car when the police fail to go see the lad who decided to use it for football practice

goldie, I once had someone nearly remove my front bumper in a parking lot and not leave any insurance information.  It was unimaginable that they didn't notice striking my car.  It cost $500 deductible for my insurance to get it repaired (the damage was closer to $1500).

Subsequently, I've had people leave dents, scratches and all kinds of other damage from striking my car, but not once has anyone left a note with their contact or insurance information.  People are assholes.  Whatever they do that they can get away with is the order of the day.  I think I'd not know what to do with someone who actually stepped forward to claim responsibility for such damage.

on a brighter note, t writes to let us know he's got a job at a university bookstore, so he's going to be in pig heaven for a while and at least able to pay his rent.  Hopefully, he'll find some student selling off a cheap computer so he can pop in here once in a while.  Has anyone heard from sevra?

I paid £510 in cash to someone I'd pranged (tiny dent but the car was silver). It felt quite good leaving a note on the car and then having him ring me a week later to work things out.  I did have a moment or two when I thought I'd just drive on, but it would have haunted me forever.

A weekend in Oxford to visit my wife's father.
Oxford's town center is poor to say the least, although a small food market from various countries was a highlight for us both.
The erst was spent in the pub, F/in law does like a few to drink

There's some seriously ill folk about at the moment.

I usually get these things early as my wife is a supervisor at a local GP surgery and brings home viruses like they are going out of fashion. She's been ill, my son's been ill, but my daughter and I are currently keeping it at bay.

We're the tough two.
