This made me smile. And yes, it's real.

Unfortunately spoiled by that hideous 2012 Olympic Logo. We are all waiting for the opportunity to forget the damn thing, but now they've immortalised it!!

It is, however, wrong. If the player is deemed by the referee not to be interfering in play, then he is not offside.

I subscribe to the Shankly dictum: "if he isn't interfering in play, then he shouldn't be on the field".
put that on a coin  ;D ;D

This story my sister sent me from Ireland I thought was quite funny, if not extraordinary.  Just goes to show that Animal Farm, Charlotte's Web, Babe etc, aren't that far fetched after all:

My daughter being sick all over the dentist today. At £61 for a replacement retainer, he deserved it.

Yep, but not for replacements due to breakage or loss.  Bloody waiter threw it away di'n't he.

Actually it was a new young Italian guy in La Baita where I go.  The manager is like my brother and the staff know that so poor young Giovanni was completely distraught that he'd thrown it out.  It wasn't his fault, it was a certain weeny girl who wrapped it in a serviette and left it next to used serviettes - it was always going to happen.

Imagine this: A friend, her 2 girls, my daughter and I, all preened up for a girls day out, in the food court of a mall fishing the napkin wrapped retainer out of the trash can. Yup, they're expensive so we shrugged the amused looks off and we ended up victorious.  ;D

Some quotes by George Best:

- I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

- I used to go missing a lot... Miss Canada, Miss United Kingdom, Miss World.

- I've stopped drinking, but only while I'm asleep.

- In 1969 I gave up women and alcohol - it was the worst 20 minutes of my life.

- He cannot kick with his left foot, he cannot head a ball, he cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's all right. (On David Beckham)

- If I had to choose between dribbling past 5 players and scoring from 40 yards at Anfield or shagging Miss World, it’d be a hard choice. Thankfully, I’ve done both.
