R.I.P. Jimmy Candler
« on: March 28, 2010, 11:30:31 AM »
Last night at 330 am,, a great freind and fellow wrestler passed away from heart filure. He was only 24.
I wasnt the the SAW show in Alma Arkansas. It was done as a favor to the owner,,who happenes to be another freind.
Jimmy was in a pretty brutal match with Eric Raiden,,
After the show,,I got word that Jimmy had hurt his arm and was in the back. So I went back there to check on him.( thats nothing unusual for me,, I allways try to make sure the guys are ok at shows,, just a habbit).
Jimmy was holing his upper arm and talking about his chest hurting,, and getting a little nausious.
I examined his arm and found no swelling,, but the thing is some times with injuries the swelling and discoloration doesnt appear for a couple hours after.
We ll just thought it was due to a hard won match since Raiden was kinda a big guy.
Anyway,, we let it go,,we didnt think anything of it.
Injuries are a way of life in this business,,inless your bleeding uncontrolably, or a bone is sticking out we just go about our business .
I got a call about 9 am this morning from Kati Pardue ( a close female freind in Texas) . She was crying and asked if I was sitting down.
I sat down and told " yeah doll, whats wrong?"
She said " Hes dead", I asked who? she said " Jimmy is dead!".
I had to hang up,, it sent me right into an anxiety attack. I couldnt believe it.
Eric raiden calls a minute later and told me the details.
We allways have someone checkl on each other ater a show if there is an injury,, Jimmy was suposed to call Tank ( Ryan Mclain) when he got home.
He never called, Ryan tried calling and couldnt get an answer.
So he goes over to Jimmy's house, knocks,, no one answers, and Ryan walks in finding Jimmy laying on the couch and unresposive.
Ryan calls an amblance and Jimmy was coded before they even got to the hospital.
Ive been crying my eys out like a little girl all morning. I lost  not only a partner,, a fellow worker,, but also a great freind and brother.
Jimmys light went dim at the young age of 24 from heart failure.
I still remember his last words before the match " Im gonna go make some magic happen".
Jimmy made magic happen everytime he walked out in front of an audience.
He was one of the best Ive seen in the ring,, he was even better than me in my prime.
He and I rode many a highway together going from show to show.
Its just wierd,,my band got canceled last night about 5 pm,, the bar was going to be closed do to a family illness ,, so I called Josh Larue,, and he asked me to come to the show and just do an appearance for the fans.
I had a bad feeling,,like a sense of finality, but I just chalked it up to butterflys.
I dont dont get that feeling at wrestling shows anymore,, this was the first time Ive had a feeling like that in years.
Now I know why,, Jimmy wont be wrestling with us anymore.
I miss him so damn much allready.
The locker rooms wont be the same without him,, arenas are dead silent without his antics,, its never going to be the same again.
God im crying like a little girl right now..

Here is to you my brother,, may your soul fly free.
You get your Wrestelmania dream now brother,, but you get to do it on the grandest stage ever,, in front of the biggest fan in the universe.
The world is truly a darker place without you ,, you will be in my heart and mind forever.

Wow, that is really sad RG. And 27, geez, his family and friends have got to be in shock. I dont have any wise words for things like this. This week in Indianapolis a brother in law of a co worker went missing. 19 year old kid home from college for a hernia operation. 5 days later found at the bottom of a retention pond in his car dead. The whole community is freaking out about it. So even though I knew neither of these people personally I can see how deeply it effects friends and family when such a young kid is taking away.

Just counting my blessing here I guess.  :-\

Jesus, that is some heavy poo.  It's left me a little speechless to be honest and even if I weren't, I doubt there is much I could say that would make the slightest difference.

May he rest in peace.

Oh gee, this is really sad indeed.
You must have really loved him as a friend for your words are very powerful, RG. I had some tears in my eyes when I read it.

May he rest in peace.

I'm sad for you RG. Losing a good friend so young. And something unexpected. I don't know what to say to make you feel better. I send you a hug and a smile.

Thank you everyone,, your words mean the world to me.
Im kinda numb right now. I think thats a good thing,, the depression was pretty bad,, and I have a feeling it isnt over yet.
So far,, fans that have found out have organized allready and gathered 5000 dollars ( thats about 60 pence to you in the UK) and allready made a monster order for roases to be sent to the funeral.
They even have the order ( a flower shop owner was a fan,, and donated 1000 dollars worth himself) to be pink and black roases. Thats the Sexecutioner colors.
Me and the other workers are going to get together next saturday and get pink and black playboy bunny tattoos in his memory.
 He meant alot to us.

I can see that so far there is only one tweet on Twitter mentioning Jimmy's demise (other than your post here RG) and I could if you like, host a site for you (for free) with wordpress or something installed, where family, friends and fans can pay their respects - all you would have to do is get a domain for me to put on my nameservers?  Should only cost $10 for an .org or whatever.

There was a link on RG's FB page to a FB announcement thread so I think they may have covered it there. Not sure though....just an FYI

Would you not have to have a Facebook account to post there?

Good question. I think actually you do have to have a FB account to post. I only use it to chat people up at bit I never really look around much. We have several members here who are on FB and could probably answer this question better than I.
