looks like the moon.
talk about a dead area.

Luna is sheer beauty compared to this though...

Places like Umbrella Corporation.  :D
You must mean Black Mesa and Aperture Science.

Well, then there's gotta be some kind of Vault-Tec installation out there, too...  :D

By the way, for some perspective, this vid shows what it looks like when those underground nukes detonate:

Do you think the sound track was playing like that during the explosions? .....maybe added later

I'm pretty sure that's a sequence from a documentary on nuclear testing and the music was added for that. But people are pretty creative, so it could;ve been cobbled together. I doubt it was playing during the actual tests.

Those pics are pretty cool Jhb...

That reminds of a documentary i watched in my high school history class called "The Atomic Cafe"

It was about the nuclear bomb, and its history, but it was done entirely using stock footage from the era. It had old training videos that the military used to show soldiers about the bomb, and what they should do in an attack. It was very interesting, and fun to watch.

It can actually be found over on D, such search "The Atomic Cafe"

I actually own a real copy of The Atomic Cafe, and yeah it's a great little flick.

There's another one out there that's really cool about the film crews who actually filmed the blasts that has some awesome footage in it.  One cool thing in it is a test where they had three people stand at certain spot in the desert and detonate a nuke 10,000 feet above them to see what effects it had. The 3 are wearing shades and not looking up, and you can see them flinch as the flash occurs. And cool another segment has a camera that the explosion uprooted from it's moorings so the mushroom cloud spins in and out of view as it flips through the air...

I used to have it around but I've even forgotten the name. Gonna have to see if I can find that - I'll let you know if I find it again...

Don't put off until tomorrow, what you can put off until the day after.
