Could someone upload?
« on: June 25, 2014, 02:08:39 PM »
Could someone upload some Pesto? I've none left, and mom has the car.

I was going to mix up some Pesto Aioli, but it's a little hard to do that without the Pesto.

Just use butter and Parmesan; it's absolutely delicious.

It's a cure-all too.
Don't put off until tomorrow, what you can put off until the day after.

I don't think that would help with no car and no ingredients.  I think he was looking for a "matter" upload that I haven't worked out how to do yet.

dweez could probably do it if he'd stop working on his damn time machine for 2 minutes.

nah, the recipe is pretty simple, I was going to make sandwiches with it.

here's the recipe I was going to use:

http://recipesthisweek.blogspot.com/2010/03/pesto-aioli.html

technically it's not "correct" pesto aoli, since you're substituting mayonnaise for the egg whites, but I don't really want to golly around with eggs right now, I was traumatized earlier this week.

Holy bless'ed poo, I just found out this is a thing:

http://www.fiction-food.com/ They're pulling food out of books, rather than cooking food from books.

I think that's neat as hell. I hadn't even known what the golly pesto aioli was until that agents of shield episode, so this is really cool.

The author seems to be a bit of a perfectionist though, I would not have the patience to make any of the desert projects she does.

But but but....I've almost got it.  How ironic.

Wait a minute! I'm sure I've already said that!

Pesto is nasty.

Not a big fan of basil?
You need to get out more.

8ully, you could always just throw some garlic thru a press and mix into mayo and then layer fresh basil on your sandwich instead of lettuce.

Pesto is easy to make and it freezes well.  So it pays to make a big batch, keep half (to which you add the dry cheese--parmesan, pecorino romano, etc.) and freeze the other.  If you use little amounts at a time, you can freeze it in ice cube trays, after which you can put it in a ziploc freezer bag and take out the cubes as needed.

I believe gooseberries are in the same family as currants.  I haven't had them, although I'm advised they can grow around here.  Currants are delicious and if they weren't so hideously expensive around these parts, making jam from them would be simple.  That book looks like fun.

I eat homemade scones and jam pretty much every morning for breakfast.  It's a nice way to start the day.

It's not a huge deal, it just sucks when you go looking for an ingredient and it just isn't there.

I'm temporarily carless, which is probably for the best, as I'm right at the wall on budget for June.
