No Substitutions.
« on: March 18, 2020, 07:10:54 AM »
I mean, Mint French Toast is one thing.

But yeah, mom REALLY wants to use non-milk milks for recipies, and I don't know how to word it. Sometimes substitutions don't work.

No Almond Milk, No Rice Milk, no Quinoa abominations, you need the real thing!

That being said, golly you country gravy. Right now two cups of milk is thin on the ground.

I wish I could mix a cowpoo packet and some water right now.

But yeah, sometimes, you CAN'T substitute.

I was given some Oatmilk yogurt as a sample.  I couldn't eat more than one teaspoon.  It was disgusting.   What's the point?  There's plenty of dairy alternatives without pursuing the non-milk milk route.  Almond milk is particularly harmful to the environment, so I give it a wide berth.  I love almonds, but I had some of it at a store tasting promotion and it was awful.  Soy is probably the least vile of the three, and I understand the need to use something in one's tea sometimes.  It must be a drag to be lactose intolerant.
