They'd totally make Slaynado.

But I believe they are trying to distance themselves from the "Nado" thing. Siffy DID put out shitty movies long before that series.

With the walking dead, I had one character I admired, he retained his optimism through the end of the world and well beyond.

Then Greaser Boy bashed his head in with a bat.

I stopped reading the comic, and never picked up the TV show, because I knew it would follow that misery porn plotline. And it did.

Much like how I never gave a poo about Thanos (Nutsack grimmace) It was interesting to hear people were done with the show when it hit that point.

It's odd but these days I don't care if everyone in a show dies. In fact, I more often prefer the antagonist to survive.

One of the best episodes of a nighttime soap opera I ever saw (note:  I didn't watch these in general, but happened to see this because my stepmother liked these shows and it was on) was Dynasty.  It was a season finale.  There was a wedding in some posh place filled with posh people.  Suddenly, some guys with machine guns broke in and started spraying bullets and taking out the wedding party and guests.  Who lived?  Who died?  Who knew?  You had to tune in next Fall to find out.  I laughed and laughed.  For some reason I found this terribly funny, maybe because it was such a naked play for continued viewership.

Re: GoT, I was bummed when Jon Snow killed off Danaerys.  That was some bad writing there.  Too bad they couldn't channel Anthony Trolloppe, as he could have really helped with that.  One reason I like Trolloppe is that he credits women with agency and sympathizes with their desire to obtain and hold power.  That's more than I can say for the hacks who ran that tv show into the ground.  I am finishing up The Prime Minister.  The Duchess of Omnium would have made a better PM, methinks, as the Duke had little stomach for it.

The wedding in the video game "Sleeping dogs" was memorable.

I liked the stupid domesticity in the lead up to the wedding. As an insult, you're forced to chauffeur the bride around Hong Kong, and actually build a friendship with Peggy.  I thought that was some exceptionally well done writing in a game that's mostly punching people to death and shoving heads into AC units so people get electrocuted. Wei Shen: Wedding Planner may not have been a hot sale of a game, but I enjoyed what the game did with it.

The whole last season of GOT was bad. What was weird is that it had a few good moments at the start, almost like a hook, to keep you watching. Like Pod singing.

I actually haven't found a new show to get into. I watched through the end of True Blood, the last season seemed like it wanted to go in so many directions, but was trapped on a rail.

I've been on a webseries binge.  It's hard for me to recommend these as my tastes are kind of eccentric and I don't imagine that many on here would enjoy them.

I finished "Whatever this is" and moved on to "Vicky and Lysander" which is campy and as goofy as possible.  Two trust fund kids in love on the upper East Side of Manhattan and their adventures.  Lysander wears a fake glued on moustache that would make Groucho Marx proud, and he wears a Homburg hat most of the time.

These are indulgences, and perhaps because they take place in New York City, they are appealing.  At any rate, they range between 2 and 5 minutes per episode so they're perfect for a generation tending toward short attention spans.

I think it's a Star Wars/Disney franchise on tv.

I'm rewatching Homeland.  It does not disappoint.  Sadly, it's not dated.  I guess terrorism doesn't go out of style.

I was watching another web series, "Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl."  It kind of reminded me of Bridget Jones Diary, but in Brooklyn.  Charming enough, but I got bored.  I guess I'm just not that into the genre.  Reading another Trollope in order to finish off the Palliser novels.  The Duke's Children.  The trope of dashingly handsome and moneyless young adventurers conniving to marry rich men's daughters is getting old.  Maybe give it a rest?
p.s.  I know it's not tv, but it's kind of like tv in that it's like an extended drama, and it could be tv.  We are watching, slowly, the installments of the 1970's, "The Pallisers" the BBC adaptation of the Palliser novels.  It is really dated and I can't say I'd have cast Susan Hampshire as Glencora, but what can you do?

I'm watching amazon original, "Z: the beginning of everything."  It's pretty lame.  Probably a better candidate for the Lifetime channel.  We have seen three episodes but are not sure we can stomach any others.

Pretty Zelda Sayre meets F. Scott Fitzgerald and romance ensues.  This is the story of a gifted American writer and his wife, beginning with their courtship.  It's like romance under general anaesthesia.  There's zero chemistry between the main characters, and the writing/directing is just awful.  Zelda is played by Christina Ricci, a gifted actress, who was fabulous in the Addams Family and Monster.  Her talents are wasted here.  Kudos to the makeup and costume people.  Those are outstanding, but I doubt they are compelling enough to carry this train wreck of a series.

We are watching Homeland.  It stands up to a second viewing.  We are in the 3rd season.  Damian Lewis is very talented.  As are the other members of the cast.  He's only in the first three seasons.

Going through the second season of The Mandalorian, its still good but like all series its starting to become repetitive.

Enjoyed Raised by Wolves but what happened at the end

Eagerly await Peaky Blinders but I also fear it may be a season too much.

I'm watching The Expanse again (for the 3rd time).  There's some logical lapses in here big enough to drive an 18 Wheeler through.  Spoiler alert.  Don't read any more if you haven't yet seen this and plan to.

So Eros is filled with people infected with protomolecule (pm), it's growing, evolving in mysterious and troubling ways.  And it is on a collision course with Earth.  The pm feeds on energy.  So what's the big solution?  Hit it with a variety of projectiles and drive it INTO THE SUN.  Now, I'm no physicist, but if the damn thing feeds on energy, why send it into one of the largest fusion reactors in the galaxy?  That's one of the larger lapses in logic.  There's plenty more as we go along.  The romantic interlude between Julie Mao and Miller seems to have evolved out of nowhere.  She doesn't know him from Adam, and he only knows what he's uncovered about her third hand, but he's smitten enough to give up his life for her and she's happy to make out with him in her pm/altered state.  Go figure.

Sci-Fi back before it was siffy had each episode up free the day after it aired, and little c's observation is correct, no one in the cast is likable. The only remotely likable one was impaled while a poor imitation of BSG music played in the background. It was almost as bad as a dun-dun-DUN stinger.

And even if the guy was likable, he was an idiot. He was told NOT to try to attempt empathy to the space weirdos, and what does he do when confronted by an angry mob of space weirdos? He tries to speak space weirdo to them.

So he got impaled.
