It has some great character actors, too. I'm just not sure that the arc of the story is really under control any more. It's hard to see someone pulling a rabbit out of a hat at this point so that there will be a happy ending, or at least a chance to end one's days working at Cinnabon. But even that didn't work out for Saul Goodman, so who knows?
So late at night I watch shows by myself and last night I started trying to watch The Citadel on amazon prime. The music alone was enough to drive me away and the whole thing seemed sort of heavy handed and lacking in any subtlety. There was Stanley Tucci, as a bonus cast member, who served to convince me that Mark Strong is a better actor.
Then, after giving up on that, I opened the first episode of Carnival Row. At least that has better CGI and fairy wings on people that seem to defy the laws of physics in their ability as slender means of lift to carry the loads they're assigned. And boats! But anyway, I got tired and went to bed in the middle of it. Amazon prime is good in that it lets you quit and come back to where you were. I think I tried to watch this before and gave up. Maybe I'm desperate. If anyone has any opinions about the relative merits of either show, I'm all ears. Are they worth the time?
