OK......no spoilers, no spoilers.. I just got done watching Seven Pounds. I dont know what to say except unless you want to kill yourself dont watch this film. OMG! VERY sad movie, but brilliantly done. It's easy to figure out what is going on but wonderfully exposed bit by depressing bit. I have the huh, huh, huh, staggered breathing thing going on I cried so hard.  Then I had to read "Lucky's" story, on post your pets, so Im gonna do a couple of Prozac and take a break.

Watching In Bruges now..........anyone seen this?

In Bruges is a brilliant movie that should have won more Golden Globes, at least for the Best Comedy.  :-\

It is funny, intelligent, intense, intriguing, smart, well-paced, great acting and ironic.

Now, I do not want to spoil it for you the ending, because it will ruin the magic of the movie.

I will tell you only this: Life is weird, ironic and absurd. This movie shows it very well.

A brilliant absurd/dark comedy movie.

I think CMF's review is alittle more passionate than I feel about this movie. It is all those things I suppose but it's just alittle to..........obscure for me? I dont know, gonna have to give it some more thought. Revolutionary Road is next on the list then Frost/Nixon. Doubt I can get to both tonight but anyone have feedback on these?

I have not seen those yet, but I will look forward for your reaction.
As for In Bruges, it is pretty dark indeed and not a lot of people would like it especially for that reason. I may compare it to Fargo.

I think I am an illiterate monkey. Every time I try to put in words my feeling on this movie it just comes out jibberish. That's a good comparison though....Fargo

Alright then......Frost/Nixon. For me a 6/10. Definatly not upto Ron Howards standards. But I nice film. Even though I was around in those days I was to busy with my social life to pay attention to anything else so I learned a bit from the film. It did leave me with a remarkable sadness for Nixon. One thing, Frank Langello is WAY to handsome to play Nixon!! He did a great though.
Spoiler (hover to show)
. That is NOT a spoiler cause it is history!!

Frost was on The Daily Show and apparently there's a DVD set that's all of the actual interview, too.

Not sure when I'll get to Frost/Nixon, yet. My friend did just lend me the Academy screeners for Benjamin Button and The Wrestler, so I'll get a chance to see those soon.

Not  my favourite  of all time,  but 1 I enjoy watching.

The Bear (USA)   Ours, L'

Filmed in Eastern Italy  in the Alps  the scenic views are amazing,  i can just  wish to see that  in person.  The  movie  with no dialogue or very little is  awesome-  as it pulls off something that very few movies in this area.  It  will pull you in simply  with understanding and imagination. and  further, Its  good. < and the lack of  huge  big budget effects and cgi make it even better>    Has a good  story line following a the bear as he has to deal with a infant bear cub who has lost his mother.  They trek the  beautiful wilderness avoiding a couple of guys  trying to kill him for some reason.  They go on 1 hell of a trip along the way after eating some magic mushrooms,  and   In the end the all learn to get along,  I would to if  a grizzly stood  3 feet from me and didn't eat me.

Here's  the trailer:

Revolutionary Road - 5/10

Whatever..........It's a "day in the life" story and it is so not my cup of tea. Well in my case, coffee.......Kate was good in it, I dont think she should of won an award but shes a very good actress so, why not. I guess. Leonardo looked 12. Not cast well at all. But thats just my opinion.

I have nothing positive to say about Revolutionary Road, but after reading the book I think Leonardo Dicaprio was the right man for the job, because in the book his character is playing at being an adult and very reluctant to grow up, so his youthful looks suit the part.
I'll never get why Kate Winslet is so popular. I've yet to see a movie where she doesn't overact.
