I think the HP movies are well done but I still agree with CMF...a lot of the content (some pertinent in my opinion) is cut.

I am no fan of either the books or the movies (although I did find the first couple of movies mildly entertaining), but I wondered if you know that this latest book and I suppose, film, is the first to get the thumbs up from the Vatican dweez?

A buddy of mine saw the first one, after having taken a handful of Rohypnol...

All he remembered was that the kid (HP) was flying around on a broom, and that made no sense!

I just came from the 6th movie and here are my impressions:

I liked it more than the others. Still, I fell they cut too much of the book as well as some action. Instead, they put the accent on a silly love triangle.
I felt the movie too short for a HP movie. But, I must agree that it was not bad. I could see it again.
Until now, this is my favorite HP movie.

Listen to this disclaimer: This movie is beyond twisted. It is disgusting, bloody, vicious, tasteless and demented and for any true horror fan (which I think RG and I are the only 2 here) it is a must see. DO NOT watch this if this type of "thrill" does nothing for you!

I don't like horrors because they are easily predictable and it all the same crap all over again. But this one looks different, interesting and has very good reviews. I may will give it a shot.

the epic battle in the school. WTF? So like all those Death Eaters waltzing into Hogwarts were just there to escort Malfoy out again and smash all the windows in the hall? Come on. It was pretty good until Dumbledore and Harry returned from the cave. Then it descended into "WHAT THE golly IS THIS." The whole Harry vs Snape confrontation was so subdued. Where was the hatred, the anger, the raw emotion? I was so looking forward to Snape going ape poo and screaming

Actually, the Hogwarts battle is in the 7th book. I also thought it would be in the 6th, but then I checked the wiki and it says it is in the 7th.

Though, a thing they cut out was Dumbledore's funeral. In the book, it made me cry. It was on the following day of the attacks and everybody paid respect to him, even the creatures from the forest came out.
While, in the movie, they sum it up in a 2-3 minutes shot with the wizards waving their wands like if they are at a rock concert.
